On August 19, 2023, the 'Love in Enshi, 2023 Enshi Tujia Daughters' Festival Opening Ceremony' was grandly held at the newly-built daughter square in Enshi Tujia Daughters' City, Hubei Province. The successful hosting of the opening ceremony marked the official start of the annual 'Enshi Daughters' Festival' folk culture event. During the event, visitors can enjoy unique ethnic cultural activities in the scenic area: the 'Umga - Daughters' Festival' stage play, the opening ceremony, the gate-keeping wine ceremony, the Tusi parade with lion dancing, the ethnic costume parade, the Tujia Daughters' Festival matchmaking event, the creative design competition for the daughter's token of affection, and the beer carnival.

It is reported that 2023 marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. To celebrate this significant moment, the scenic area has built a brand-new landmark square - Daughters Square. The giant hydrangea sculpture on the square is ablaze with lights, exquisitely delicate and transparent, complementing the magnificent stilted buildings. Together, they create a harmonious and interesting scene. Under the illumination of the colored lights, the entire city wall exudes a grandeur and elegance without losing its charm. The indigo color is revealed in the carved railings and patterns, while the pinkish hue flows along the red bricks and green eaves. All of these vividly showcase the colorful and passionate folk customs of the Tujia people, spreading the exquisite and romantic colors throughout the entire scenic area.
